COVID 19: 8 additional patients recover after second test

Eight additional patients have recovered having undergone the second test, bringing the total number of recoveries to 164 as at Saturday, 23rd May 2020.

According to the State Health COVID 19 situation report, 2 new confirmed cases were recorded from the results of the returning samples, however, the current results have put statistics of the Case Fatality Rate at 2.2%.

From the report, 63 patients are still on hospital admission under the supervision of the case management on COVID 19 as the total number of confirmed cases now stands at 232.

In his reaction to the development, Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, commended the frontline health workers and other supporting workers for working assiduously in ensuring that the treatment protocol was professionally followed.

Rilwanu Mohammed stated that the State government has put everything required for case management in place to ensure that every case management proscribed by NCDC was applied and assured that the testing centre by the state is nearing completion which he said will ease the present hardship facing sample testing particularly for the second test that leads to discharge.
