Court Remands Father for Raping 13-Year-Old Daughter in Lagos

A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 14th May, remanded a 58-year-old man, Joseph Gamor, for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter. 

The presiding judge, Patrick Adekomaiya, declined to take a plea and ordered Gamor to be remanded at the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre, pending legal advice from the director of public prosecution (DPP).

The prosecution counsel, Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the suspect sexually assaulted the minor at his residence on the morning of May 9.

Adeosun added that the suspect unlawfully penetrated the private part of his 13-year-old daughter with his manhood.

He stated; “He unlawfully touched and removed her clothes and had sexual intercourse with her”.

He added that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Meanwhile, the judge adjourned the case until July 29 for further hearing.
