Court Orders Portable to Prison for Alleged Car Theft

A Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, over alleged car theft, assault, and obstruction of police officers.

Portable was arraigned on a nine-count charge, including the alleged theft of a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million and violent attacks on his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple, and others at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo.

The court also heard allegations that the singer assaulted a female police officer during a lawful arrest.

His bail application was denied, with the judge insisting on hearing directly from the assaulted officer.

Portable was remanded in custody, and the case was adjourned to January 19 for further hearing.
