American wholesale company Costco has denied claims that they sold baby oil to rapper and music executive Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, who is currently facing serious legal troubles.
Back in March, federal officers raided Diddy’s mansion in Beverly Hills. During the raid, authorities seized several items they believe were intended for large, wild parties known as “freak offs.”
These items included drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil. The discovery raised many questions about the purpose of the baby oil, which quickly became a talking point in the media.
In a new documentary by TMZ Studios titled The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, defended his client by explaining why Diddy had such a large supply of baby oil.
He suggested that Diddy purchased the bottles in bulk from Costco, which is known for offering products in large quantities.
However, Costco swiftly responded to this claim, stating that they do not carry baby oil at any of their U.S. locations. “None of the company’s U.S. stores sell baby oil,” Costco told TMZ, effectively shutting down the lawyer’s defense.
Diddy is currently facing several serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and interstate transportation for prostitution.
He was arrested by Homeland Security and taken into custody. On September 17, Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Despite his legal team’s efforts, Diddy’s requests for bail have been denied twice, meaning he remains in custody as the case unfolds.
