Barcelona and Atletico Madrid cruised to impressive victories in the Round of 16 of the Copa Del Rey, advancing to the quarter-finals.
Barcelona soared to a commanding 5-0 win over Real Betis, while Atletico Madrid triumphed 4-0.
Barcelona’s dominance began early, with Gavi putting the Blaugrana ahead in the 5th minute. French defender Jules Koundé doubled the lead before halftime, making it 2-0. In the second half, Barcelona kept the pressure on, scoring three more goals through Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal, sealing a resounding win at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Betis did manage a consolation goal in the 85th minute, courtesy of Vitor Ruíz, but it was not enough to alter the outcome.
Atletico Madrid also enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 victory away at Elche, who played a man down. Norwegian striker Alexander Sørloth scored a brace, netting in the 8th and 29th minutes, with the second goal coming from the penalty spot. In the second half, Rodrigo Riquelme and Julian Álvarez added a third and fourth goal, securing a dominant away win at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.
Getafe, Valencia, and Leganes also won their games in this round of the tournament.
With three more matches still to be played, the final eight teams will soon be confirmed, all vying for a place in the semi-finals.
