Cleric in Bauchi encourages joyful giving among Christians

—

Christians in Nigeria have been encouraged to give joyfully in order to receive abundantly, as directed by God.

The call to generosity and unity was emphasized by Very Reverend Father Raphael Agbata, the Administrator of Bauchi Catholic Diocese, during the dedication and launch of the inaugural almanac/calendar of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Bauchi State.

Referring to 2 Samuel 7:2-17, Father Agbata expressed concern about the challenges facing Christians due to a lack of unity within the faith.

He underscored the importance of Christians coming together without denominational biases to address obstacles hindering the growth of Christianity.

Addressing the state of CAN in Bauchi, Father Agbata highlighted the need for a united purpose to achieve set objectives.

He lamented the prolonged incomplete state of the CAN Secretariat, attributing it to a lack of unity and understanding among members.

Drawing parallels with David’s desire to build a house for God, Father Agbata urged Christians in Bauchi to collaborate, pool resources, and complete the project to enhance the image of Christianity in the state.

Father Agbata also called for cooperation with CAN leadership in the state to ensure effective and efficient leadership.

“We should know that there is a positive reward from God when we give cheerfully. God does not look down on givers no matter how little the gift is. When you give cheerfully, we will receive in many folds.

He emphasized the positive rewards of cheerful giving, emphasizing that God values even the smallest offerings.

Drawing inspiration from King David’s spirit of wanting to build a fitting house for God, Father Agbata urged Christians to give wholeheartedly, believing that cheerful giving leads to manifold blessings.
