Nnamdi Ochei, the main suspect in the killing that occurred around the Idumuje Ugboko Palace when thugs loyal to Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko, Mbanefo Nwoko, Uche & Chris Aligbe, Okey Ifejokwu & the rest of the clique opposed to the establishment of a private university in Idumuje Ugboko went on rampage in May, looting and burning homes and businesses, beating chiefs and elders of Idumuje Ugboko, and ultimately murdering an innocent young man. He was arrested in the dead of night on Monday, June 26, by a crack team of police detectives, who had been on his trail for several weeks.
But surprisingly or maybe unsurprisingly, resident and imported thugs loyal to Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko and his financiers mobilised immediately and laid siege to the residences of Mr Kennedy Iloh, Secretary of Idumuje Ugboko Land Allocation Committee and Chief Ogwu, the Iyase of Idumuje Ugboko, threatening to kill them unless they facilitated the release of the arrested murder suspect. This seems to be a clear admission that the suspect is a member of their gang or cult and the impunity with which they attack people points to the fact that they are backed by powerful people in the town. And indeed they make no attempt to hide this fact, always loitering on the palace grounds which Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko forcefully occupies, and eating their 3 daily meals from the hallowed kitchen of the palace which has now been desecrated by the abominable actions of Prince Chukwunonso.
When asked about the latest development, many Idumuje Ugboko indigenes wish for the law to take its course and the murderers in their midst to be fished out and expelled from Idumuje Ugboko according to our customs and traditions in order to avert mysterious and grave consequences, since Idumuje Ugboko has never tolerated or harboured murderers.
More details coming as the case progresses.
