Chelsea’s €32.5 Million bid for Nigeria-Eligible Samu Omorodion Rejected by Atletico Madrid

According to The Athletic, Atletico Madrid has rejected Chelsea’s €32.5 million (£27.4 million) plus add-ons offer for Nigeria-eligible striker Samu Omorodion, who is currently on loan at Alaves.
Having been capped in the U19 and U21 Spanish teams, the 20-year-old said last season that his goal is to make his debut for the Spanish senior team and he doesn’t think about Nigeria, appreciating the opportunity he has received from Spain.
Spain has given me the opportunity, and I am very grateful for it. I don’t think about Nigeria. My goal is to debut with the senior side and have my career in Spain.”
He began his senior career with the Granada academy in 2022, where he was promoted to the senior team. In his debut season for the senior team, Samu made 36 appearances, scoring 18 goals. He then switched to Alaves, where he completed his 2023/24 season with 8 goals in 35 games.
