Chelsea legend John Terry inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame

Former Chelsea and English captain, John Terry has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

He is the second former Blue to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame this year alongside Ashley Cole – and they join ex-Chelsea teammates Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

Terry graduated from the club’s academy and became of the greatest centre back of all time during his time with the Blues. As a blue, Terry won 5 Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League and other trophies.

Terry holds the record for the most Premier League clean sheets as a defender (214) and remains the highest-scoring defender in the league’s history with 41 goals.

‘I’m very grateful to have been voted into the Premier League Hall of Fame,’ said Terry.

I’m a player who certainly gave my all whenever I stepped out on the pitch, and to be recognized in this way makes me really proud.

‘It’s great to have joined my former team-mates who have already been inducted and to be inducted in the same year as Ashley Cole, who was an incredible player and is a close friend.

‘I was lucky to share a dressing room with so many top players. To captain a club like Chelsea and achieve what we did as a team is so special to me.

‘The Premier League is the best league in the world, which every player hopes to play in, and I’m very proud to have won it five times.’
