Chelsea Hold Talks With Iraola as Managerial Hunt Intensifies

—

Chelsea have intensified efforts to appoint a new manager after reportedly meeting with Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola as the club continues its search for a long-term replacement ahead of the new season.

In light of recent uncertainty in the dugout, Chelsea’s management is considering a number of high-profile candidates, with Iraola standing out among the frontrunners after guiding Bournemouth to a great season that has brought the club to the edge of European qualification, The News Chronicle reports.

Reports say the Spaniard recently spoke with Chelsea officials, while former Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso and Fulham manager Marco Silva are also being closely watched.

Alonso is believed to be highly regarded under Chelsea’s ownership structure, given his tactical awareness and ability to work with young talent.

Despite the growing speculation, Iraola has stayed unfazed about his future and stresses that his primary focus is still on reaching Bournemouth’s season objectives. The coach had turned down Crystal Palace’s offer earlier, therefore strengthening Chelsea’s confidence in pursuing him.

Chelsea is anticipated to make a final decision shortly as planning for the following season accelerates. Following yet another erratic season, club officials apparently want a coach capable of restoring consistency, improving results, and restoring confidence at Stamford Bridge.
