Chelsea Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga Joins Bournemouth on Loan

Chelsea and Bournemouth have agreed on a deal for Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to switch club allegiance to Bournemouth on a season-long loan after agreeing to extend his contract by one year with the Blues.

AFC Bournemouth are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan deal.

The 29-year-old arrives at Vitality Stadium from Chelsea, having spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, where he played 20 times in all competitions as they went on to win La Liga, the Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup.

The Spain international was also part of the Chelsea squad that won the 2021 Champions League, the 2019 Europa League, and the 2022 Club World Cup.

Chelsea confirmed his departure after extending his contract by one year:

“Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has signed a one-year contract extension and completed a season-long loan move to Premier League side Bournemouth.”

Kepa has also been capped by Spain 13 times at the senior level and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Nations League final in June 2023.
