Suspected hoodlums have reportedly attacked the mobile phone market at Farm Center in Kano State in broad daylight, causing panic among traders and customers on Monday.Â
A source within the market told The New Chronicle via WhatsApp that the attackers, who were allegedly linked to a recent political gathering held at Bristol Palace, stormed the Yoyo Plaza section of the market where phone sales were taking place.
According to the source, the assailants disrupted trading activities, brandished weapons, and attacked traders who were conducting their businesses.
They were also reported to have snatched mobile phones from unsuspecting passersby during the chaos.
Security operatives, including the police, were later said to have been deployed to the area and successfully dispersed the attackers.
As of the time of filing this report, there were no confirmed casualties or fatalities resulting from the incident.
