Champions League: Ten Hag will Face a 25% Pay Cut Should Manchester United Not Qualify

—

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is to face a 25% pay cut should Manchester fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, according to ESPN.

‘Erik ten Hag will face a 25% pay cut as Manchester United manager next season if he holds onto his job in the wake of the failure to qualify for the Champions League.’

It’s seemingly impossible for Manchester United to finish in the Champions League spot as things stand. Manchester United has 50 points with 6 games left for the Red Devils, so winning all the remaining games can increase their tally to 68, below the points earned by Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. The only possible way to attain this feat is for Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Newcastle to possibly lose all their remaining games of the season.

Erik ten Hag guided the club to the Champions League this season, but they were unfortunately knocked out from the tournament in the group stage after losing to Bayern Munich twice and to Copenhagen and Galatasaray, finishing at the bottom of Group A.

Despite not yet winning a trophy with Manchester United, Erik ten Hag has qualified the Red Devils for the final of the FA Cup following a dramatic encounter against Coventry at Wembley in the semi-final round.
