Land Of Goshen Responds Swiftly after being Called out By the Public
In response to public outrage, the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos State has moved quickly to ensure that Fuji singers Pasuma and Portable are not allowed to perform at an upcoming praise night event at one of its branches.
A promotional flier showcasing Pasuma and Portable’s involvement in the church’s worship night went viral on social media, sparking a firestorm of anger from users.
Olatosho Oshoffa, the shepherd in charge, addressed the issues on social media. After conferring with the supervising priest of the parish that was organizing the festival, Oshoffa affirmed that the controversial performers would not be present at the planned event.
Oshoffa calmed the Celestians in a formal message posted on his Facebook page, saying, “Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the aforesaid Parish at length. He has committed to altering the posters. He pledged that the aforementioned musicians would not attend the Nights.
With rapid action, the church leadership sought to address public and member dissatisfaction over the contentious singers’ presence in the praise night schedule. By taking this proactive step, the church demonstrates its dedication to maintaining its principles and values and making sure the event is in line with them.
The event which is set for December 15, 2023, at the church sparked conversations on social media because the church involved Portable and Pasuma in the line up for worshipers.
