CDCFIB Denies Issuing Statement Regarding NIS Recruitment

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) said that a piece of news claiming to be from them about replacing workers in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is not true.

The Secretary to the board, Ja’afaru Ahmed, explained that the board did not release any such news and advised people to ignore it. He also warned against falling for fake recruitment schemes and fraudsters.

The statement read: “The attention of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has been drawn to a purported press release issued by the board on a certain 2024 merit replacement exercise in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)”.

“We wish to inform the general public that the purported press release did not emanate from the board and as such should be disregarded.

“Also, the board wishes to warn members of the public to be wary of the activities of fake recruitment syndicates and racketeers.”

Regarding the recruitment process for the Federal Fire Service (FFS), the Minister of Interior and chairman of the board, Dr. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, said that it will be completed by June 15, 2024.

This is part of the board’s plan for hiring people for different government services. He assured applicants that the list of successful candidates would be announced on that date.

Ahmed, speaking on behalf of the Minister, reminded applicants to be careful of scammers who cheat people.

He explained that candidates who are selected for the next stages of the recruitment process would be notified through emails and text messages to visit the board’s website.
