Cassie Finally Breaks Silence on Sean “Diddy” Combs Assault Video

Cassie Ventura has publicly responded to the resurfacing of a 2016 video that shows Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting her.

Expressing gratitude for the support she has received, the model in a heartfelt Instagram post on May 23, 2024, wrote, “Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”

Cassie, who had an on-and-off relationship with Diddy for over a decade, explained the lasting impact of domestic violence on her life.

“Domestic Violence is THE issue.” She continued,  “It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.” She urged people to believe victims the first time they speak out, stating, “It takes a lot of heart to speak out and tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in. I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear.”

Recall that Diddy also addressed the video and his actions in a message on May 19, 2024, saying, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f–ked up. I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”

He further shared his efforts to seek professional help and his commitment to becoming a better person, stating, “I went and I sought out professional help. Had to go into therapy, go into rehab. Had to ask God for His mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

The video which showed Diddy grabbing, pulling Cassie to the ground, and kicking her, was published by CNN on May 17, 2024.

The footage aligned with allegations Cassie detailed in her November lawsuit against Diddy, where she accused him of rape and abuse. Despite Diddy denying the accusations at the time, he settled the lawsuit a day after it was filed. Cassie concluded her message by emphasizing the importance of support and healing, saying, “Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. But this support means everything to me. Thank you.”
