Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, has revealed that Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, helped him make the most money of his life during a livestream.
Carter made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast, where he discussed his streaming career, relationship with Davido and the growth of Nigeria’s digital creator economy.

According to him, Davido’s appearance on one of his livestreams attracted a massive audience and significantly boosted his earnings.
“Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
The content creator’s remarks highlight the growing financial opportunities available to Nigerian creators through livestreaming, digital platforms and collaborations with established entertainment personalities.
In December 2025, Davido joined Carter during a Twitch livestream that reportedly attracted more than 80,000 concurrent viewers.
The appearance also reportedly led to a significant increase in Carter’s followers and subscribers on the platform.
Carter Efe, whose real name is Oderhohwo Efe, initially gained prominence through comedy and music before expanding into livestreaming and online entertainment.
The rapid growth of Nigeria’s digital creator economy has created alternative avenues for income, entrepreneurship and employment, particularly among young Nigerians.
It has also provided creators with platforms to showcase Nigerian talent and culture to global audiences while enabling them to monetize their audiences and collaborate with established artistes and brands.
