US rap artist Cardi B has announced the birth of her fourth child, a baby boy, marking her first child with American football player Stefon Diggs.
The announcement was made on Instagram this week, where the Grammy-winning musician wrote that the new arrival gives her “one more reason to be the best version” of herself.
A representative for the artist confirmed to People magazine on Thursday that both Cardi B and the baby are “healthy and happy.” No additional details about the place or time of birth were released.
Cardi B, whose legal name is Belcalis Almánzar, has three older children with her estranged husband, Offset. She filed for divorce from the Migos rapper in July 2024.
Diggs, a wide receiver for the New England Patriots, had revealed the baby’s sex earlier this month during a red-carpet interview. He said, “It’s a boy. That’s enough for me,” adding that he looked forward to raising him. This child is Diggs’ second, as he has a 9-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
The birth follows the release of Cardi B’s second studio album, Am I The Drama?, issued last month. In her announcement, she wrote that she is preparing for an upcoming tour connected to the album and working to regain her physical and mental readiness for live performances.
She stated that she aims to continue giving her children “the love and life they deserve” and described the period ahead as a personal transition focused on self-improvement.
Messages of support appeared under her announcement, including one from Jasmine, the partner of former NFL quarterback Cam Newton, who wrote: “Congratulations Cardi!! We love and support you!!”
Cardi B and Diggs have been publicly linked for about a year, after initially keeping their relationship private. She was recently seen visiting him during the Patriots’ Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons, a moment she also shared on social media.
