A car thief sneaked into the Kano State Government House early Monday morning and stole a Toyota Hilux belonging to the deputy governor’s convoy.
According to sources, the thief entered the premises through Gate 4 and drove the vehicle away around 5 a.m. CCTV footage later showed the suspect exiting through the main gate without being stopped.
Insiders disclosed that the deputy governor’s office complex is only patrolled during working hours or when the deputy governor is present.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as Shafiu Sharp-Sharp, was reportedly interrogated and briefly detained.
“Investigations have already begun. The driver is being questioned, and the Chief Security Officer is reviewing the CCTV footage. The vehicle’s description has been circulated to security agencies to aid in its recovery and the arrest of the suspect,” a source said.
