Burundi’s Olivia University Pro-Chancellor Promises Brighter Future for Anambra Youths

Dr. Paul Chukwuma

The Anambra-born pro-Chancellor of Olivia University, Bujumbura, the Burundian capital, Dr Paul Chukwuma has described children and youths as critical stakeholders in the future of any society that no sane government would dare to toy with.

Chukwuma, who was speaking to newsmen in Awka, Anambra State Capital against the backdrop of the recently-celebrated Children’s Day held across the country, however, charged Nigerian youths to imbibe good morals and positive acts to distinguish themselves wherever they go in life.

Chukwuma, a popular educationist, who is also the immediate past National Auditor of the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) pointed out that being imbued with shining morals and attitude stands one out anywhere you go and as such, attracts the youth to the right opportunities and people, always.

He also appealed to them to adopt industry and hard work as a way of life.

Describing children as very good emulators, Dr Chukwuma urged political leaders, religious and community heads, parents, and guardians to always be their best in the presence of the children as they copy everything they do.

Taking cognizance of the theme of this year’s message “Enhancing the Total Wellbeing of the Nigerian Child Through Quality Education and Skills Development”, Dr. Chukwuma highlighted his deep interest in the wellbeing of children, hence his annual scholarship program for them.

Dr Chukwuma who is a frontline Anambra 2025 governorship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress(APC) expressed his avowed commitment to prioritizing the rights, education, healthcare, general welfare,  security, and safety of all children in Anambra State.

“For me, it’s a no-brainer. We either invest in the future of our children or nothing.

“Anambra under my watch, will make sure that all children of school age have access to quality basic education.

“The plan is to inspire them through quality education, to express their creativity and potential in science, technology, art, and music, and make their voices heard in the society.

“There is no gainsaying that education is the only way the children of the poor can compete favorably with those of the rich. I will therefore make sure that no child is denied access to quality education, just because they are not rich enough to afford it,” Chukwuma promised.
