Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian singer Shakira have reached a major milestone with their joint track, “Dai Dai”, as its official music video has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube.
The milestone was recorded on Shakira’s official YouTube channel, with the view count independently verified by the platform.
Released in May, “Dai Dai” blends Shakira’s Latin-pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats style, further highlighting the growing global appeal of Nigerian music.
The song was officially selected as the FIFA World Cup 2026™ official song, with royalties from the track set to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
Shakira previously recorded “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The latest achievement further strengthens Burna Boy’s international profile and underscores the expanding global reach of Afrobeats.
