Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Gunshot Injury During Skit Filming in Ogun State

Nigerian comedian and content creator Broda Shaggi, whose real name is Samuel Perry, has been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge, where the entertainer was recording content with members of his production crew.
A source familiar with the incident said the comedian was injured during the filming session. “He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source said.
The injured entertainer was initially taken to Blooming Care Hospital, where medical personnel administered first aid after he arrived with the injury.
He was later transferred to Duchess International Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment and recuperating.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police became aware of the case after being contacted by the hospital.
“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi,” Adebisi said.
She added that the entertainer was found on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh when officers arrived at the hospital.
Adebisi also stated that although the patient was treated in Lagos, the location of the shooting was outside the command’s jurisdiction. “The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
However, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the alleged incident had not been officially reported to authorities in the state.
“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” Babaseyi said.
The circumstances surrounding the gunshot remain unclear and authorities have not yet confirmed how the injury occurred.
The 32-year old comedian has featured in several Nigerian productions such as
