The Northern Senators Forum has chosen Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua to be their new chairman.
The senator is the younger brother of late President Umaru Yar’adua.
This decision comes after Senator Abdul Ningi resigned from his position. Ningi, in a letter sent to the forum, wrote, “I would like to resign my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators forum. This is of course necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the nation at large.”
Senator Yar’Adua represents the Katsina central senatorial district and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Additionally, Senator Tahir Montuno has been appointed as the spokesperson for the forum.
