Bandits have launched a deadly attack along the Dansadau–Magami highway in Zamfara State, detonating improvised explosive devices (IEDs that killed several people, with more details still emerging.
The explosions reportedly occurred between Dansadau and Gusau on Saturday , with the latest blast recorded around Mai’aya’aya village while vehicles were heading toward Magami.
Eyewitnesses said the first explosion caused panic among travelers before a second bomb went off in what security sources described as a “double-tap” attack, a tactic often used to inflict more casualties and target responders.

Passengers were seen scrambling for safety as the second blast ripped through the area, further worsening the situation. There are also reports that the attackers planted additional explosives along the route, allegedly to sabotage military escorts deployed to protect commuters on the busy highway.

Security agencies are yet to release an official statement, while residents and motorists have been urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid the affected road as clearance operations are expected to continue.
