Gunmen have kidnapped two children of Alhaji Aliyu Idris Ibrahim, a former chairman of Zaria Local Government and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
The abduction occurred around 5 pm on Wednesday in Kwarbai, Zaria town, as the children were returning from their Islamiyya school. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
A family friend, Tahir Abubakar M, confirmed the incident in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
He wrote, “Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Yesterday, after I dropped off their uncle, he called to inform me that they had been kidnapped on their way back from Islamiyya. These children are the kids of the immediate past chairman of Zaria Local Government.”
