BREAKING: Reps Amend Electoral Act, Slam N10m Fine on Dual Party Membership

In a move to tighten Nigeria’s electoral framework, the House of Representatives has amended the Electoral Act 2026 to criminalise dual membership in political parties.

Lawmakers say the measure is designed to strengthen party discipline and safeguard the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system.
