On Tuesday, members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Plateau State House of Assembly faced an unfortunate incident when armed police officers used tear gas against them.
This event unfolded subsequent to the Court of Appeal’s decision to remove 16 lawmakers affiliated with the PDP.
Previously, it was reported that the ousted PDP lawmakers from Plateau State had expressed their determination to resume legislative duties.
On the specified Tuesday morning, these legislators, along with their supporters, gathered at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos with the intention of resuming plenary sessions.
However, as they prepared for the session, law enforcement, including the police and other security personnel, took control of the Government House premises.
They effectively prevented the dismissed lawmakers from entering the House of Assembly chambers.
Despite these challenges, the legislators remained resolute and refused to leave the premises.
