There was a lot of confusion at the main office of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) because a car suddenly caught on fire right in front of the entrance.
The car was painted red and had a license plate number TSE – 423 – AA from Benue State. It was coming from the Barcelona Hotels on Blantyre street in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja when the fire started.
This happened during a rally organized by some APC members from the North Central region to show support for the party’s national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. They didn’t want him to be removed from his position before his term ended.
People who saw the fire shouted ‘fire, fire’ and everyone rushed to get away to safety. But some drivers and security guards who were at the APC office quickly worked together to put out the fire.
After the fire was put out, they moved the red car away from the entrance and parked it somewhere else on Blantyre street.
One person who saw everything, named Abdullahi, said, “The driver acted quickly; otherwise, it could have been a really bad day.”
