BREAKING: Nigeria’s Power Grid Crashes for Second Time in Four Days

Nigerians were thrown into blackout on Tuesday as the national power grid collapsed for the second time in just four days, following an initial failure last Friday.

Data from the Nigerian Independent System Operator revealed that by 12:00 p.m., nearly all electricity distribution companies had received no power allocation. Only Azura-Edo IPP (90MW) and Delta (129MW) contributed to the struggling national grid.

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company confirmed the collapse, stating:
“There was a system collapse at 10:48 hours, resulting in a loss of power across our network. We are working with TCN partners to restore supply and will keep customers updated.”

Similarly, Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc urged patience as engineers scrambled to revive electricity.
