The Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and the Assembly of Health Care Professionals have announced a 7-day warning strike set to start at midnight.Â
This action follows a 15-day notice given to the Federal Government to address long-standing demands.
JOHESU’s national chairman, Kabiru Minjibir, highlighted the union’s main requests at a press briefing in Abuja.
Key demands include immediate implementation of the consolidated health salary structure, payment of a 25% arrears review from June to December 2023, raising the retirement age for health workers, tax exemptions on healthcare allowances, and immediate payment of the COVID-19 hazard allowance.
The union has directed its members nationwide to participate in the strike.
