BREAKING: FG Mandates Nationwide DNA Testing for Newborns

—

Twitter is abuzz with reactions about a recent statement made by a minister in Nigeria.

According to tweets, the minister has pledged that government hospitals and clinics will conduct DNA tests at no cost. This news has sparked a range of reactions among users.

On one hand, some individuals express joy over the prospect of these free tests, believing they will aid in confirming paternity. Conversely, there are concerns raised about the financial feasibility of such a widespread initiative.

For instance, a Twitter user named Chijioke shared that the Health Minister revealed plans for government hospitals to offer complimentary DNA tests starting in June.

Similarly, Omotayo from Lagos also took to Twitter to share the news, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing free DNA testing from June onwards.

Supporters of the initiative believe it will help prevent instances of raising children who are not biologically related to their purported parents.

However, the announcement has elicited mixed emotions, with some viewing it positively and others expressing apprehension about the financial implications.
