BREAKING: FG closes major Abuja store as part of its crackdown on hoarding and price fixing

—

On Friday, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCC) took action against Sahad Store, a well-known supermarket located in the Garki area of Abuja.

The reason for this action was because the management of the supermarket was accused of not being fair to customers.

They were allegedly charging prices that were different from what was displayed on the price tags on the shelves.

The person leading this enforcement action was Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, the Acting Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC. He spoke to journalists about the situation during the event.

Abdullahi explained that the commission had conducted an initial investigation, which supported the claims that the supermarket management was indeed not treating customers fairly.

As a result of these findings, Sahad Store was sealed off by the commission. This means that the store was closed temporarily, and customers were not allowed to enter.

The store will remain closed until the commission completes further investigations into the matter.

This action by the FCC is aimed at protecting consumers and ensuring that businesses operate in a fair and transparent manner.

It sends a message that such behavior will not be tolerated, and appropriate measures will be taken to address any wrongdoing.
