Former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, on Wednesday showed up at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.
Kyari, who arrived at about 2:15 p.m., was grilled by investigators over financial and technical decisions made during his tenure, The News Chronicle gathered.
His appearance comes amid an ongoing EFCC probe into the controversial $7.2 billion earmarked for refinery turnaround maintenance.
The development also follows a Federal High Court order temporarily freezing four bank accounts linked to Kyari over fraud allegations.
