At least five people, including a child, were killed Thursday morning in a devastating accident along the Akwanga-Keffi Expressway. The crash involved a Sienna vehicle bearing registration number ABJ 367 FJ and occurred around 10 a.m. near Minkis Hotel in Keffi.
Sources say, the vehicle had been pursued by FRSC officials after allegedly trying to evade inspection, suggesting the chase may have contributed to the fatal crash.
Attempts to get a response from the FRSC in Keffi were unsuccessful.
The office opposite Nasarawa State University Keffi was deserted at the time of the visit, and the victims’ bodies have yet to be evacuated, The News Chronicle gathered.
As of press time, authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
