BREAKING: Court Convicts 4 Over Deadly Owo Church Massacre That Killed 43 Worshippers

The Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted four of the five men arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS) over the June 5, 2022, attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, in which 43 worshippers were killed.

Delivering judgment in the terrorism trial, Justice Emeka Nwite found Idris Abdulmalik Omeiza (25), Al Qasim Idris (20), Jamiu Abdulmalik (26), and Abdulhaleem Idris (25) guilty on the nine-count charge.

The DSS had accused the defendants of belonging to foreign terror groups and participating in the deadly assault on the church.

However, the fifth defendant, Momoh Otuho Abubakar (47), was discharged and acquitted.
