The Borno State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew in Maiduguri following a recent eruption of protests.

Due to the recent incident in Kawori, where an improvised explosive device detonated, resulting in the deaths of 16 individuals and causing critical injuries to several others, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum, in consultation with heads of security in the state, has found it necessary to declare a 24-hour curfew with immediate effect.
This measure is essential to restore law and order in the state. The Governor’s decision aims to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
