Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have launched another attack on Benishiekh town along the Maiduguri–Damaturu road, targeting the 29 Task Force Brigade of Operation Hadin Kai. The location was recently the site where Brigadier General O.O. Braimah was killed on April 9.
Residents reported sightings of armed fighters within parts of the town, heightening fear and tension. Local sources revealed that suspicious movements, including the spotting of about 15 motorcycles days earlier around Kara’war, may have signaled preparations for the attack.
In a related development, six gun trucks were also seen around the Borno Iso axis near Mainok and Jakana, suggesting a broader operational plan. Security concerns are rising that the current assault could be a diversion to strike other military positions along the highway.
