Breaking: Bandits Kill Four, Sets Monarch’s House Ablaze In Plateau

Armed gunmen have killed no fewer than four persons in Dungwel village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Sunday 10th December 2023.

A relative of the victims, Shedrack Gambo, revealed that the victims all died in the attack while some sustained various degrees of injuries.

“They all died in the attack and others were also injured in the incident. The community is presently in shock and grieving. Please, pray for us,” Gambo lamented.

Confirming the incident, the Military Taskforce, Captain Oya James, stated that he has called the Commander of the FOB and was told the number of victims involved in the attack.

Oya further explained that the terrorists had left the scene of the attack when the troops got to the village adding that it seemed like the assailants went there for a specific person as well as the village head as their main target.

“According to what the troops were told, the assailants on arrival were asking for the house of the village head. When the people saw what was happening, they started running away”. He added.

It was also gathered that the bandits burnt down the house of the village head with his family members trapped in the fire before troops who were alarmed came to the rescue of the victims.

Sources say that the village head also escaped the attack got his house razed down by the bandits.
