The Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Hon. Nura NU, has reportedly been abducted by armed bandits alongside his entire family during a late-night attack.
According to reports obtained by The News Chronicle on Saturday, the gunmen stormed the chairman’s residence, firing multiple gunshots before whisking away Hon. Nura NU and his family to an unknown location.
The attack also left several people injured by gunfire, including the chairman’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC), one of his relatives, and other individuals who were present during the incident.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact number of casualties remains unclear, while security agencies have yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack or ongoing efforts to rescue the victims.
Residents of the area have expressed concern over the worsening security situation, as incidents of kidnapping and bandit attacks continue to affect communities across Zamfara State.
