Nigeria’s most capped player, Ahmed Musa, has announced his retirement from international football, ending a 15-year career with the Super Eagles.

The 33-year-old made the announcement on Wednesday via social media, describing it as a proud and fulfilling journey.

Musa earned a record 111 caps for Nigeria, won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, and made history as the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cups, netting goals in 2014 and 2018.
He thanked teammates, coaches and fans for their support, saying he leaves the national team with gratitude and peace.
Musa currently plays for Kano Pillars and serves as the club’s general manager ahead of the 2025–26 season
