A 18-year-old man, identified as Happy Eforpor of Edere-Aviara and hails from Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has reportedly gone wild, allegedly pulling out a locally made pistol following the refusal of his love advances by one Fejiro Independence.
Eforpor, suspected to be a cultist had in company of his friend, one Samson Dick, approached Miss Independence for friendship but the damsel was said to have turned down the request.
Not happy with the girl’s response, the suspected cultist in a bid to force his object of admiration into the relationship engaged her in hot exchange of words which attracted the parents of the girl.
The appearance of the girl’s parents did not deter lover boy who allegedly pulled out the local made pistol and threatened to shoot them.
But for the intervention of the Surveillance Team attached to the Oleh Division of the Delta State Police Command who quickly mobilized to the scene following a distressed call, the story would have be tragic.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Celestina Kalu said her men succeeded in arresting Eforpor and one Oghenemaro Onowo who allegedly aided the escape of Eforpor’s accomplice, Samson Dick.
Kalu said the locally made pistol and one expended cartridge were recovered, adding that investigation was “ongoing while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.”
She also confirmed the arrest of a suspected motorcycle thief, one Eloke Adoh with a stolen Lifan motorcycle while allegedly attempting to sell the motorcycle at Agbor in Ika South council area.
According to her, owner of the unregistered motorcycle, one Stephen Nwanmezsi of Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North council area had reported at the Police station, Okpanam that his motorcycle was stolen at Okpanam town.
Kalu said investigation was in progress, adding that the suspect will soon appear “in court while efforts are on to arrest his accomplice currently at large.”
