The Borno State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, has officially handed over a Toyota Tacoma pick-up vehicle to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local vigilante groups in Buratai Ward, located in Biu Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State on Wednesday.

This move is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to enhance security operations in the region.
The presentation of the patrol vehicle was made possible by the approval of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, who is committed to improving the security situation across Borno State.
The patrol vehicle will support the operations of the CJTF and vigilante groups as they work to maintain peace and security in Buratai Ward and surrounding areas.
During the handover ceremony, the Commissioner presented the vehicle to the Chairman of Biu Local Government Area, who was represented by his Personal Assistant, Abdullahi Umar.
The Commissioner encouraged the local government to continue supporting the CJTF and vigilante members in their efforts to safeguard the community.
He also urged the security groups to remain dedicated to their duties and strive for the restoration of peace and harmony in their areas of operation.
Commander Mamman, the leader of the CJTF in Buratai Ward, expressed his gratitude to the Borno State Government for the timely provision of the patrol vehicle.
He pledged that the security outfits in Buratai would do their utmost to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
Commander Mamman also offered prayers for the restoration of peace, not only in Borno State but across the entire nation.
The handover ceremony was attended by several key officials, including Modu Alhaji Mustapha, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, and Babagana Mustapha, the Director of Administration and Supply.
The event highlighted the state government’s commitment to enhancing local security and supporting the efforts of grassroots security outfits in their critical role of maintaining law and order in the region.
