The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, received the REC on Wednesday and pledged the Command’s full support in safeguarding the electoral process before, during, and after elections in the state.

Speaking during the visit, Ibrahim Abdullahi said his engagement with the Police Command was aimed at strengthening the existing partnership between the Police and INEC to ensure smooth and hitch-free electoral activities across Borno State.

He stressed the importance of collaboration between electoral authorities and security agencies in achieving peaceful and credible elections.

In his remarks, CP Naziru Abdulmajid assured the REC of the Command’s unwavering commitment to providing adequate security coverage throughout the electoral period.

The police commissioner highlighted the need for sustained cooperation between security agencies and INEC, particularly in protecting electoral materials, personnel, and maintaining law and order during electioneering activities.

He further disclosed that the Command had put in place strategic operational plans and robust security measures to guarantee safety in critical areas connected to the electoral process.

CP Abdulmajid also reassured residents of Borno State of the Police Command’s professionalism, neutrality, and dedication to protecting lives and property throughout the electoral period.
