Bolt Reportedly Sacks 22 Workers

Bolt Nigeria, a technology-driven ride-hailing platform, has reportedly undergone a restructuring process, resulting in the layoff of 22 employees.
Femi Adeyemo, the firm’s Communications Manager, confirmed the layoffs, emphasizing that it was part of a strategic restructuring effort and not a result of financial challenges.
Adeyemo clarified that the affected employees were from a department comprising 45 workers, representing less than half of Bolt’s total workforce.
In support of the affected employees, comprehensive severance packages will be provided to aid their transition to new career opportunities.
Bolt Nigeria stressed that the decision reflects a restructuring of customer support and operational processes rather than financial struggles.
“22 people out of 45 from a department were relieved of their jobs, not nearly half as claimed by some reports.
“The department where it happened has 45 workers, not the whole Bolt. That number is not half of the workforce of Bolt,” he said.
“The affected employees will receive comprehensive severance packages to support their transition to new career opportunities,” Adeyemo said.
The company reiterated its dedication to its African markets, including Nigeria, assuring that the decision would not compromise the quality of its services for riders and drivers.
