Bolt Introduces ‘Send’, Same Day Delivery Service

—

Bolt has introduced Bolt Send, a same-day parcel delivery service in Johannesburg North, allowing users to conveniently send small parcels and gifts through the Bolt app.

The service, powered by a fleet of Bajaj Qute, comes as a strategic expansion following the recent closure of Bolt Food in South Africa and Nigeria.

Users can pay for the service with cards or cash, emphasizing Bolt’s commitment to meeting evolving user needs and providing additional earning opportunities for its driver partners.

The move aims to capitalize on the ride-hailing platform’s success and popularity, delivering a solution that exceeds user expectations in response to the growing demand for reliable service delivery.

To use Bolt Send, customers can tap the parcel icon in the app, input pick-up and destination details, select Bolt Send from the vehicle category page, and confirm their trip.

The company ensures users are notified once the driver arrives and is ready to collect the parcel, enabling them to share the journey with the recipient.

Bolt Africa PR Manager, Sandra Suzanne Buyole, emphasized the company’s dedication to innovation and efficiency, leveraging the strong reception of Bajaj vehicles to offer a dedicated delivery solution.

The initiative provides drivers with an additional income stream amid challenging economic times.

However, users should note that the functionality and pricing of the service depend on distance and demand. Bolt clarified that it does not offer insurance coverage for package loss, damage, or theft.

Parcels must measure 60 x 40 x 40 cm or smaller and have a value of R1,500 or less.
