American rapper Big Sean explained why he hasn’t married singer Jhené Aiko after dating for eight years.
On the ‘Out of Context’ podcast last Friday, Sean told Charlamagne tha God that he’s not ready for marriage yet because “there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”
Sean said, “It’s personal, but like anyone in love, we’ve had our ups and downs… I think we’re still figuring things out. Marriage, to me, means having the best relationship. I want that, but there’s still a lot to work on.”
Sean and Aiko have been dating on and off since 2016. At the start of their relationship, Aiko was married to producer Dot da Genius, but she filed for divorce in August 2016.
In November 2022, Sean and Aiko welcomed their son, Noah. Aiko also has a 15-year-old daughter, Namiko, with singer O’Ryan.
Sean had previously proposed to his ex-girlfriend, Naya Rivera, in October 2013, but they called off their engagement six months later. Naya passed away in 2020.
