Benue Governor Names Serumun Deborah as New Secretary to the State Government

Benue State, Nigeria – Governor Hyacinth Alia has announced the appointment of Barr. Aber Serumun Deborah as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), following the resignation of Prof. Joseph Alakali.
Prof. Alakali, who served as SSG for a year and three months, submitted his resignation letter citing personal challenges. Governor Alia expressed gratitude for his service and wished him well in addressing his personal challenges.
A statement by the government said Barr. Aber, a seasoned solicitor and arbitrator, brings a wealth of experience and excellent analytical skills to her new role. She is a team player with good interpersonal skills, always striving for excellence, the statement added.
Governor Alia believes Barr. Aber will add significant value to his government, charging her to remain focused and align her work with the administration’s vision. He urged her to prioritize the state’s interests in her official functions.
According to the statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the appointment takes immediate effect.
