Following the Mandela Cup friendly between the Super Eagles and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa billed for the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban on Wednesday, Globacom, a leading telecommunications company, has charged the Super Eagles to ensure victory over Bafana Bafana of South Africa as they meet.
Globacom’s Chief Operating Officer, Mohamed Jameel; Executive Director, Human Resources, Adewale Sangowawa, and Glo ambassador/ Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda, in a statement in Lagos on Monday said that national pride is at stake in the game; hence they should go for total victory.
“Even though, it is a friendly match, we want the Super Eagles to note that national pride is at stake in the game and they should go for total victory,” Globacom stated.
Globacom lauded the decision of the Team’s echelon to launch new players in the encounter, saying it would entrench the much needed competition among the players in the team.
“We appreciate the building process as we believe that it will make the squad even more formidable,” the statement further said.
The high profile encounter held in honour of former South African President, Nelson Mandela, will also serve as a warm up for the Eagles ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier with Malawi in September.
Globacom is the official telecommunications partner of the Nigeria Football Federation and the major sponsor of the Nigerian national teams.
