Bauchi State Governor Appoints Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has officially appointed Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as the new Emir of Ningi.

This announcement marks Danyaya as the 17th ruler of the Ningi Emirate, following the recent passing of the long-serving Emir, Dr. Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya.

Born in Ningi in 1956, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya previously held the prestigious title of Chiroman Ningi.

His selection as Emir comes after careful deliberation by the traditional kingmakers, and the appointment has been formally approved by the state government.

The decision was conveyed through a letter signed by Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, on Sunday.

The appointment of the new Emir falls under the authority granted to the Governor by Cap. 24 Item 3 (1) of the Laws of Bauchi State of Nigeria (Appointment of Emirs/Chiefs and Deposition, 1991).

The letter further highlighted that the kingmakers’ recommendations were thoroughly considered in the final decision.

A statement issued by Mukhtar Mohammed Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed, shared more details about the appointment.

The statement expressed the government’s confidence in Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya’s ability to uphold the legacy of his late father, Dr. Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya.

The new Emir is expected to play a pivotal role in promoting unity, peace, and development within Ningi Emirate and Bauchi State as a whole.

The statement further emphasized that the Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, remains dedicated to supporting traditional institutions in the state.

The government acknowledges the significant role these institutions play in fostering peace, stability, and progress within the various communities of Bauchi State.

Governor Bala Mohammed also extended his condolences to the family of the late Emir, Dr. Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, who passed away at the age of 88 after an extraordinary reign spanning over 46 years.

The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Emir’s soul and offered his heartfelt congratulations and prayers for good health, long life, and a successful reign for the newly appointed Emir, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya.
