Bauchi Ministry of Education Cautions Staff against Sharing Unverified Information

The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has strongly cautioned all educators and staff members to exercise caution when using social media platforms.

Emphasizing the importance of posting only verified and accurate information, the Ministry highlighted that sharing unverified or false content could potentially tarnish the government’s reputation.

The Ministry’s Information Officer, Jalaludeen Usman, explained in a statement that they need to protect the reputation of the education system in Bauchi State.

The statement reads: “Dear esteemed teachers and Ministry of Education Staff, as valued members of the education system in Bauchi State, we must uphold the integrity and credibility of our profession at all times.”

The Ministry has observed a trend where individuals share information on social media without verifying its accuracy.

While acknowledging the benefits of social media for communication, the Ministry stresses the importance of exercising caution.

It advised, “Let us prioritise fact-checking and ensuring the accuracy of the information before sharing it with others.”

“I urge each one of you to be mindful of the content you share on social media and to refrain from sharing anything that has not been proven to be accurate or correct. Let us work together to maintain the good image and integrity of our education system.”
